" Play is the highest form of research".

-Albert Einstein

Gestalt Play therapy is a very effective, compassionate and friendly type of therapy when working with children. In therapy with adults it can be expected to talk and listen to the person just naming or listing the problems they experience. When working with kids, depending on the age and depending on the problem, it is harder to see this;

kids do not just list their problems because their level of awareness is different. So a way to help them to become aware is through play, which as we all know, is a more familiar way of expression for them. Play therapy facilitate the awareness process through the action, therefore kids express their reality through their actions in play. The play therapist provides the environment and the experience for the kid to express how they operate in their world. Through this, the therapist relates to him/her and work toward the healing process and strengthening of him/herself in an environment where both speak the same language.
